Leveraging Hong Kong’s international advantages in connecting the world and Hangzhou’s strengths in the digital economy, technological innovation and the e-commerce industry, Jubei International will use the platform as a key strategic springboard to accelerate the internationalization of its AI-powered essence-wellness industry.
Hangzhou–Hong Kong Collaboration: Building a Two-Way Channel for Sci-Tech Innovation
In 2023, the Hangzhou Municipal Government and the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC) signed the Memorandum of Understanding on the Hangzhou–Hong Kong Science and Technology Collaborative Innovation Platform. Under the guidance of the Hangzhou Municipal Science and Technology Bureau and led by Hangzhou Industrial Investment Group, construction of the platform has been steadily advancing, giving rise to a collaborative system of ‘one platform, two centers and one fund’. Built on the complementary strengths of Hong Kong’s international innovation and technology resources and Hangzhou’s digital economy and industrial ecosystem, the system promotes the two-way flow of innovation factors between Hong Kong and Hangzhou through R&D cooperation, commercialization of research outcomes, project incubation, industry matchmaking and sci-tech and cultural exchanges. Among its components, the Hangzhou Innovation Incubation Center at Hong Kong Science Park, the first high-caliber incubation platform established in Hong Kong by a mainland city, has engaged more than 200 Hangzhou enterprises and supported 42 projects through two-way incubation and local landing, serving as an important gateway for Hangzhou enterprises to access innovation resources in Hong Kong and around the world.
Three Global Centers: A New Anchor for Jubei’s Globalization
Going forward, building on this platform, Jubei will establish a Global R&D and Technology Center, a Global Brand Center and a Global E-commerce Operations Center. The Global R&D and Technology Center will focus on connecting scientific research, talent and technology resources in Hong Kong and beyond, driving technological innovation and commercialization of outcomes in AI-powered health, intelligent extraction and water technology. The Global Brand Center will harness the value of Hong Kong as an international window to build a brand system for global markets and take Jubei’s AI-powered essence-wellness brand to the world. The Global E-commerce Operations Center will combine Hangzhou’s digital economy and e-commerce strengths with Hong Kong and overseas markets to build global digital marketing, e-commerce operations and consumer service systems.
